HR Manager (Maternity Cover) Holiday Inn Glasgow City Centre - Theatreland, 161 West Nile Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G1 2RL

This exciting role will predominately be to offer HR support at all levels across Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express Theatreland, Glasgow as well as offering support on an Ad-Hoc basis to the other 4 hotels within the Chardon Hotels group. This support will enable staff to deliver the hotels’ quality standards, provide support and direction to the hotel Management Team and drive the “Spirit of Chardon”.

Key Ares of Responsibility:

  • Be visible to employees at all levels and be approachable at all times
  • Be a strong support to all employees, Heads of Departments and General Managers when any issues arise to ensure that they are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner
  • Support and offer advice or guidance for any Disciplinary or Grievance Procedures
  • Ensure there is a robust Recruitment Process in place.
  • Manage the recruitment of the hotels through approvals of Authority to Recruit requests (ATRs), advertising vacancies and controlling the New Start process
  • Support and encourage Managers to ensure all new starts receive a strong and smooth induction into the business
  • Support Managers to ensure regular performance reviews are carried out with members of their team as part of their journey with the company as for their own personal development
  • Provide support to the Finance Manager to complete Monthly Payroll using Fourth Hospitality
  • Provide monthly HR reporting to the General Manager and Hotel Manager for Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express Theatreland
  • Manage and lead the function of the Holiday Inn’s Staff Consultative Committee on a monthly basis throughout the year
  • Assist the Hotel’s Appointed Person in Health & Safety by making all staff aware of Health & Safety Legislation. Carry out, maintain and train Risk/COSHH/Manual Handling Assessments for the HR, Reservations and Finance departments
  • Assist Heads of Departments as required with training and administration of their Health & Safety records
  • Attend and participate in weekly Heads of Department meetings
  • Carry out any other HR, Recruitment and Training related administrative tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Uphold the Company standards of personal presentation
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and staff in the hotels

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous HR experience, ideally within the Hospitality Sector
  • HR related degree and/ or be CIPD qualified or working towards this
  • Strong people person
  • A positive attitude and ‘can-do’ approach at all times
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to employees and Managers at all levels
